Eastern Greene High School

The Girls Basketball Season got underway tonight at Eastern Greene. The Patriots of Vincennes Rivet traveled to Eastern Greene to kick-off the 2023-2024 season. Eastern Greene fell behind early in the first half by as much as 14 points before Keylee Hudson hit a buzzer beater to cut the lead to 11 points at the break. Rivet started the 2nd Half with another surge to push the lead to 20 points. Eastern Greene Junior Lydia Pfaff came off the bench in the 2nd half to surge the Thunderbirds back within 2 points after multiple 3s from Pfaff, Hudson, and Bianca Wyatt. The Thunderbirds just couldn't get enough stops on defense that would lead to offensive points and the Patriots prevailed for the win by a score of 48-43. The Thunderbirds will be back in action on Saturday at Sectional Opponent, South Knox. JV will tip at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity contest.
